Meet Gus Gus!
Gus Gus is an 8 year old, 54 lb pitbull mix who was saved just hours from euthanasia at Downey Animal Care Center.
Now safe in a loving foster home, he’s finally getting the peace and comfort he’s been missing.
On his very first night in foster care, Gus slept straight through the night, like a dog who hadn’t known a cozy, calm sleep in far too long. Since then, he’s shown just how sweet and gentle he is. Gus loves pets, curling up in his warm bed, and soaking in all the affection he can get. He does well on walks and enjoys roaming and exploring his foster home’s backyard.
Gus is very people friendly and thrives on human connection. He is selective with other dogs and prefers calmer companions, making him a great fit for a structured, calm, and patient home where he can continue to feel safe and secure.
Gus Gus is currently in San Pedro, CA, but he is available for adoption nationwide.
