This 1.5-year-old, 59-pound boy is everything you’d love about the breed … stunning looks, a soulful personality, a heart full of AFFECTION, without the legendary husky drama.
He is remarkably quiet, genuinely respectful, and hasn’t destroyed a single thing in his foster home. Yes, really.
Pepper’s favorite place to be is outside in the garden with his foster mom, soaking up the sunshine and just existing peacefully by her side. And for those of you with a carefully tended yard , he’s not a digger. Your flower beds are safe!
He’s the kind of dog who makes you feel like you’ve had him forever. When he’s feeling especially loving, he’ll rise up on his hind legs to wrap his paws around you — his signature hug — and honestly, it’s impossible not to melt.
He’s wonderful with dogs of all sizes and has been a total gentleman with kids. We haven’t had the chance to introduce him to cats yet, but based on how calm and measured he is in every other situation, we’re cautiously hopeful.
The one thing Pepper is still working through is car rides. He gets a little anxious, and we think that’s less about cars and more about being so newly out of the shelter — he hasn’t had time yet to fully trust that his people aren’t going to leave him behind. With patience and consistency, we expect that to fade quickly as he settles into a home he can call his own!!!
Pepper is fostered in Lancaster, CA and is ready to find his forever family.
