Meet Rio!
Rio is a handsome boy with the bright blue eyes! This 6 year old, 77 pound Husky Shepherd mix is smart, well behaved, house trained, and ready to find his forever family.
Rio is a stellar companion who loves cuddles, pets, toys, and spending time with his favorite people. He’s food motivated, walks beautifully on leash, and is happy to relax beside you for a cozy night of TV. Before his surgery, he also loved going on hikes with his humans.
Rio is recovering from spinal surgery from a pinched nerve and making progress every day. He doesn’t need any special care, just a little help with stairs and continued easy steps physical therapy as he heals. He gets attached to the people who show him love and may need a little reassurance when his favorite humans leave. With a loving family cheering him on, Rio will have a safe place to keep healing and a whole lot of love to come home to.
Rio can do well with other dogs of any size with proper introductions, but he would prefer to be the only dog in the home so he can soak up all the love for himself. He can be happy in an active home or a more relaxed one, as long as his family gives him time to heal and plenty of affection.
Rio is currently being fostered in Long Beach. Transport is available to his forever home.
