Meet Rito – Our Smart, Goofy, and Loyal Belgian Malinois
Rito is a 5 year-old, 65-pound neutered Belgian Malinois who was rescued from the South LA shelter. Since then, he has been thriving in training and foster care—but now he’s ready for his next chapter and is searching for a committed adopter.
This lovable goofball carries his food bowl around like it’s his emotional support item. He’s intelligent, eager to please, and has a big personality that shines with the right guidance. Rito is house-trained, dog-friendly with proper introductions, and highly responsive to structure.
As a true working breed, Rito needs someone experienced with high-drive dogs—preferably someone who understands the mental and physical demands of Belgian Malinois. He would thrive in a home that can keep up with his energy, challenge his mind, and maintain consistent boundaries. He’s not a protection dog, but he has the potential to excel in activities like agility, advanced obedience, or scent work.
Rito’s Ideal Home:
Adult-only or with older, respectful teens (no small children)
Active lifestyle—daily physical exercise and mental enrichment required
Experience with working breeds (especially Malinois or Shepherds)
Good with large dogs with proper introductions
Calm and structured environment
